Shocking reports coming in from Seattle. Our culture correspondent has gone deep underground (and in this case, it’ll be literal) to bring you word of a new phenomenon taking over clubs, bridges, and warehouses. You’ll see hundreds of queer people, furries, club kids, people every age from their early 20’s to their 40’s and 50’s gathering together to listen to high tempo electronic dance music, in genres called things like “Happy Hardcore” and “Hardstyle”. They call them “Raves”. What will they think of next?
And you can experience being stark raving mad at this stark raving fad all your own on November 23rd, courtesy of Impact! Foundation. With a lineup featuring a special international guest, along with some local Seattle favorites, they’ll be keeping it going till 2am. Here’s what you can look forward to for this one!
-International guest DR DR4KKEN coming all the way from France as part of his North American tour; Half Princess – Half Necromancer, Dr Dr4kken dreams of world healing by radical kicks and euphoric synths. His explosive live hardware sets allow for incredible adventures into his unique blend of gabber, hard psy, and VGM.
–JIMNI CRICKET, who has been keeping it 200 in Seattle since the 2000’s. Her unique quick mixing cheesy Happy Hardcore and DnB style mixed with her scratching mastery creates a experience that will leave your feet on the floor the whole night. She also has a regular show on c89.5, Seattle (and the worlds!) longest running EDM radio station.
–IZE VINSIN, whose work with Kawaii Rave has created huge raves across the nation, to which he brings banging hard dance sets every time he can. Recently, he opened for Darren Styles in Seattle, showing off a cross genre blend of Hardstyle, Drum n Bass, and Techno.
-And last but not least, L00PGAR0U, Seattle’s premier werewolf DJ who can be found playing parties, renegades, or at clubs all around Seattle, playing everything from Dubstep to Jersey Club to Breakcore. Also one of the lead organizers of Sparklefur Coven, who throw renegades all over the city and showcase many incredible up n coming DJs
